Kemtile Win Two Prestigious Industry AwardsThe Tile Association Awards are the "Oscars" of the wall and floor tile industry. The association represents all aspects of the wall and floor tile industry in the UK, from manufacture to installation. It is dedicated to the advancement of all sectors of the tile industry and is committed to raising standards of product, installation, sales, training and promotion across the industry. The awards are part of that commitment as they celebrate the very best in the industry. Kemtile received two prestigious awards and were finalists in a third. Excellence in Tile ContractingThis award is given to only one contracting company each year and as such demonstrates that the judges consider the recipient to be the best contracting company in UK and Eire in that year.The submission "To ensure that their customers are completely satisfied and that their projects have the maximum possible design life; Kemtile select the most suitable, proven materials from the most reliable suppliers. They work closely with all their suppliers on trials to evaluate new materials and maintain quality on existing products. They have excellent site management skills, retain a dedicated Health and Safety Consultant and employ a skilled workforce. Kemtile have worked for almost every major brand in the food and drink industry". Best Technical Use of Tile in a Construction ContractThis Award considers the projects where the end use demanded specialist tiles or tile fixing skills. The tiles used may not be pretty; it was the functionality and fixing technique that mattered in this Award Uniq, Northampton won. Kemtile were the contractors and North West Tile Manufacturers Plkington's Tile Group Plc supplied the tiles The submission "This state of the art manufacturing facility at Northampton makes sandwiches for Marks & Spencer and British Airways. The Pilkington's Dorset Hexagon tile used was developed in close collaboration with Kemtile to satisfy a specific need in this demanding market and to suit Kemtile's unique flooring systems and fixing methods. They are specifically designed to be laid by the vibration method. The 1200 square metres of Hexagon tiles were fixed using the Kagetec BS vibration fixing system. Kemtile lay more tiled floors in food factories every year than any other company in the UK."
