Supporting booming craft brewers at BeerX 2018
In a report published last Autumn, we were told the craft beer boom has pushed the number of breweries in the UK over 2,000 for the first time since the 1930s. More than 300 brewers opened in 2016, a reversal of what was a much-criticised consolidation of the beer trade over past 70 years.
So as we prepare to exhibit at BeerX, in Liverpool on 14th and 15th March, we're looking forward to a great show as we enter even brighter brewing times and play our part in supporting its growth.
Over the last 40 years, we've developed an enviable reputation as go-to flooring and drainage specialists within the brewery sector. These industry statistics are therefore reflected in the ever-increasing number of projects we've undertaken for all sizes and styles of brewers.
We've supported those very early steps taken by start-ups with specialist offers, ranging from gluten-free beer to ale made from leftover bread, to microbreweries moving in and on to larger premises to increase output. And of course, we've long been renowned for the projects we've undertaken for the big boys', such as AB InBev and Heineken. It's on these credentials that our very own craft brewery boom has been based in recent years.
So what are the next big things to come from craft brewers? We're very much looking forward to hearing from some of the industry's most influential figures and thought leaders during BeerX's impressive series of seminars.
But just from reading our own papers and news feeds, it's clear that the future of UK brewing is very bright. News has just hit of a new glitter beer, a trend that is taking over in the US and is sure to hit our shores soon. And let's not forget the likes of chocolate ice cream beer and avocado ale. Amongst other top trends to be identified at a recent Craft Beer Rising festival are low and no ABV' beers, the rising popularity of kettle sours and the growing usage of cans as the packaging of choice.
And their marketing also rarely disappoints, with the likes of BrewDog keeping us entertained with a steady stream of stunts and stories. Just last week the maverick Scottish brewery launched what it claims will be the world's biggest ever beer sampling campaign, giving away a million free pints of its Punk IPA over the coming month. That's enough to fill more than 7,000 bathtubs. Have you claimed your free beer token yet?
With such growth and innovation within the industry, how can we not be excited about going to Beerx?
