Kemtile donates £500 to guide dogs charity
Following a year-long fundraising campaign, we're delighted to have donated £500 to the Guide Dogs charity earlier today.
Driven by senior warehouseman Paul Croft with the support of the wider team, visitors behind-the-scenes to our stores area have been encouraged to throw in a few coins to the department's collection bucket.
Fast forward 12-months, and guests' kind-hearted contributions have been counted up and a fantastic £500 donation made to Guide Dogs.
The charity provides life-changing services to the 360,000 people who are registered blind or partially sighted, and the two million people in the UK living with sight loss.
Today Guide Dogs volunteers, Ray and Verner Hepple visited our HQ, on the Taylor Business Park, in Risley. They spent time with our fabulous fundraising team and said a huge thank you for our hard work and kind donation.
Ray and Verner were also joined by four-legged friends including the remarkable Rita, the Labradoodle guide dog puppy who has recently been staying with our very own Stephen and Carol Westley and their family, and beautiful black Labrador Fizz.
Guide Dogs' volunteer Ray Hepple said: "Firstly, I'd like to say thank you to the very kindhearted people of Kemtile for raising such a fabulous amount of money for us. We are currently responsible for around 8,000 dogs who help change the lives of many of the 360,000 people who are registered blind or partially sighted, and the two million living with sight loss. Without such donations, we'd be unable to reach as many people as we do."
Kemtile's Carol Westley said: "As an organization and family we're huge dog lovers so we've been delighted to support Paul and the team to raise much needed funds for such a worthy cause. Even better, we've been able to provide a home for Rita. It's been the most enjoyable and rewarding experience."
