Kemtile returns to brewery
Kemtile recently returned to a London-based brewery to undertake its latest project: the design and installation of a resin flooring system for the refurbished Wort Room, which was completed over four phases.
Kemtile made a reappearance, the most recent in a 10-year relationship, at the award-winning brewery after being approached by a construction services company that was working full time at the site.
A durable flooring system was required to replace the previous heavy-duty polyurethane resin covering and lined drainage channels, which had deteriorated after years of use and exacerbated by hot caustic solution discharge. As a result, the wider refurbishment project saw some of the equipment also replaced.
In this particular brewing environment, Kemtile specified Stonhard, Stonclad UT, a high performance urethane flooring system suitable for heavy-duty environments and resistant to chemicals, abrasion and impact.
Stonhard, Stonkote HT4 topcoat was then applied as a finish coat to further enhance the aesthetics and chemical resistance of the Stonclad UT. Stonclad UT also offers outstanding cleanability with good slip resistance and a high gloss finish.
Kemtile also supplied bespoke 316 grade stainless steel channels to replace the existing resin lined channels as well as all the manhole covers and frames. All the clay gullies were removed and replaced with new 316 grade stainless-steel drainage gullies from Wiedemann-Technik.
