Kemtile completes flooring project at new state-of-the-art Leicestershire brewery
A long standing, renowned Leicestershire brewery is the latest UK brewery to enjoy stunning high-performing flooring and drainage systems designed and installed by Kemtile.
The family-owned beer business and pub estate company has invested heavily in its new state-of-the-art brewery, which has just opened in Leicestershire. The site also features a Beer Hall and shop, as well as brewery tours, tasting sessions, workshops and other beer occasions.
The new brewing facility has capacity to produce more than 4.3million pints of beer every year in its 16 fermentation vessels, eight of which are over five metres tall, with the other half reaching eight metres in height. They'll be served in more than 170 pubs across Leicestershire.
Kemtile's design included 700m2 of Kagetec hexagonal fully vitrified ceramic floor tiles that were installed using the unique Kagetec ultra sonic vibration system.
This system is a popular choice amongst the nation's brewers, such as Brixton Brewery, Camden Town, Salt Beer Factory and Utopian Brewing and Gipsy Hill Brewing Company.
The Kagetec floor was further enhanced with the supply and installation of a bespoke Wiedemann-Technik, stainless-steel drainage system that had the marry up exactly with the underground drainage points fixed in the floor. Some of the floors adjacent, which were away from the main brewing area were completed with a heavy-duty polyurethane floor screed specified for its durability and hygiene properties. The whole drainage and floor installation was completed over a two-month project period.
Speaking about the project, Kemtile's Mark Appleton said: "We were first contacted by project architects back in 2016 and, since then, we provided revised technical information as it developed, and the designs were amended.
"Our flexibility, agility and attention to detail certainly helped make us the flooring partner of choice. As did our ability to be able to provide all the services and products that are required for a project of this size and scope. From design to installation, groundworks and civils to aftercare, we're a real one-stop-shop and our customers love and appreciate the benefits that this brings. We're here to manage the product from end to end, so they don't have to."
