Wrights Pies, a manufacturer of baked goods and confectionery, required a new state-of-the-art floor at its site in Crewe.
To install a high-quality flooring solution that was hygienic, easy-to-clean and slip resistant and extremely durable in line with demands of the food and drink industry.
What we did
Due to the practicalities and the existing lay-out, Kemtile recommended that it was more logical and cost-effective to put in a hygienic, ceramic tiled floor. So in the main production areas Kemtile installed 2,500 square metres of its Kagetec BS System, incorporating Argelith MVTec 18mm thick, fully vitrified, hexagon ceramic floor tiles. In areas such as the wash down and oven areas, where there was to be more mechanical and thermal usage, Kemtile used Kagetec GFK, which utilises a plastic mesh and epoxy bonding membrane beneath the tiles. This vibration system is a state-of-the-art method of laying floors. The project saw Kemtile receive the Excellence in Tile Contracting award 2015 at the Tile Association awards.
Peter Wright, Managing Director of Wrights Pies, said: “We got to know Kemtile over ten years ago and the company has become our preferred partner for floor tiling installation as we have grown over the years. Kemtile always take a professional approach to flooring installation, giving us the best value for money, a high level of quality and outstanding personal service.”
